Rust Rewrites: a serverless journey
If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. PHP is the right tool for a lot of jobs in your web application, but it might not be the best tool for all of them.
In this talk we’ll look at a way to selectively replace high-traffic endpoints in your stack with blazing fast serverless implementations written in Rust. We’ll see how AWS load balancers can reroute traffic, and how to identify targets for migration – and monitor to make sure it all works smoothly.
We’ll look at a bit of Rust syntax, and see the performance benefits of running it in a serverless environment, as well as some of the pitfalls you could encounter.
